Rennes target January move for Manchester City’s Claudio Echeverri | OneFootball

Claudio Echeverri (19) has just seen his loan to Bayer Leverkusen cut short. The Argentine has returned to parent club Manchester City, however, he is not expected to stay there. 

Instead, Echeverri, who struggled for game time during his short stint in the Bundesliga, is expected to go back out on loan during the January transfer window. As per a report from Ouest-France, Stade Rennais are one of the clubs keen to bring the forward in. 

Rennes are in the market for attacking reinforcements in the January transfer window as they look to sustain a push for the UEFA Champions League places. Echeverri has emerged as a target for the Breton club, however, Ouest-France understands that they will have to contend with competition from La Liga. 

Girona, who are also part of the City Group, lead the race for his signature, whilst Villarreal also hold an interest in the player, whose contract with Manchester City runs until 2028.
