Any hopes that Barcelona might have had of luring Martin Odegaard to Camp Nou appear to have hit a firm wall.
According to a recent report from Fichajes, Arsenal have completely ruled out any possibility of selling their captain, making it clear that the Norwegian remains untouchable in Mikel Arteta’s project.
The 26-year-old has grown into one of the Premier League’s standout creative players, and his importance to Arsenal cannot be overstated.
As per the report, the Gunners have “closed the doors” on any potential exit, with no offers being entertained for the Norwegian star.
Barcelona have long admired Odegaard, and it was reported that the Blaugrana hierarchy sees him as the kind of technically gifted midfielder who fits seamlessly into their philosophy.
The Catalan side even tracked him during his youth career, but a deal never materialised.
Now, however, Arsenal’s stance is firm that the captain is going nowhere.

Odegaard’s influence under Arteta has been monumental. He has not only delivered in terms of creativity and goals but also evolved into one of the team’s most consistent leaders.
With his contract running until 2028, Arsenal have complete control over his future. Reports claim that the Premier League leaders view him as a non-transferable figure in their long-term plans.
As journalist Dean Jones noted, Arsenal’s decision is final and no offers for Odegaard will be considered.
For now, the Gunners are prioritising a contract renewal, ensuring their captain’s future remains tied to the Emirates for years to come.
As for Barcelona, they may have to look elsewhere. The Catalans, who continue to explore midfield options for the future, know that Odegaard’s signing would be a near-impossible mission under the current circumstances.
Unless the player himself pushes for a move, which seems unlikely, the dream of seeing the Norwegian in Blaugrana colours will have to wait.
