Barcelona are starting to shape their transfer plans for the summer window, and two familiar names have, yet again, come into the spotlight.
As reported by Fichajes, it has come to light that the club is keeping a keen eye on Milan midfielder Tijjani Reijnders and Bayer Leverkusen full-back Alejandro Grimaldo, viewing each as a clever addition who can enhance the team without pushing monetary limitations.
Given the club’s ongoing financial crisis, the sporting department has decided to avoid previous mistakes, and instead, they want to focus on the signings who could arrive with minimal effect on the wage sheet.
Deco, who’s leading the rebuild along with manager Hansi Flick, believes that both Reijnders and Grimaldo offer the right profile as they can straightaway make a contribution while also fitting into the long-term structure of the squad.
Reijnders has been making waves at AC Milan this season. The 26-year-old Dutchman has impressed with his versatility, physical strength, and ability to carry the ball forward.

His eye for line-breaking passes and willingness to get involved in attack have made him a standout in Serie A, attracting interest from several major European clubs, including Barcelona.
While he does have a long-term contract with the Milan team, Barcelona see his profile as well-suited to the demands of their midfield.
However, the fact remains that any deal would require careful planning as he is not a bargain option but rather a calculated investment that the club believes would complement its style of play.
Meanwhile, Grimaldo is enjoying one of the best seasons of his career at Bayer Leverkusen. As one of the most effective full-backs this season, he has contributed significantly, scoring four goals and providing 11 assists.
With the transfer window nearing, Barcelona are moving with extra caution but with a clear intent.
In that regard, both Reijnders and Grimaldo represent the kind of profile the club wants—technically proficient, tactically flexible, and capable of raising the team’s level without stretching economic limits.
