Chelsea are in advanced talks over a front of shirt sponsor with any potential deal thought to be worth around £45m per season according to reports.

This is now the third consecutive season the Blues have started without a front of shirt sponsor, but they have had a number of short terms deals in that time.

Chelsea in advanced talks over £45m per season front of shirt deal

A lack of shirt sponsor has left fans baffled, especially given the Blues are back in the Champions League and won the Club World Cup.

Chelsea have reportedly been in contact with several suitors from both America and the Middle East, but nothing has been finalised yet.

However, it was reported earlier this week Chelsea were in the final stages of finding a front of shirt sponsor, whilst they have announced a new sleeve sponsor.

Initial reports had suggested the Blues were looking for around £60m per season, but Football Insider have reported the club are close to finalising a deal thought to be worth £45m per season.

The report adds it’s understood Chelsea could look to agree a long term deal that could see them earn £40-£45m for this season and years ahead.

Front of shirt sponsor will fill revenue gap

No front of shirt sponsor is causing the Blues to miss out on vital revenue, despite the fact they made over £300m in player sales this summer.

Winning the Club World Cup netted Chelsea a large amount of prize money, which certainly helped plug the sponsorship gap last season.

However, Chelsea are having to come up with alternative ways to make that money, so the sooner an agreement is reached the better it is for the club.
