Chelsea have held talks over a move for Ecuadorian centre back Deinner Ordonez, with Liverpool also interested according to reports.
The Blues have made it their missions to sign the best young talent from around the world since being taken over by Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital in 2022.
Chelsea have particularly targeted South America, and have picked up a number of top talents from the continent including Kendry Paez, Estevao Willian and Andrey Santos.
Whilst strengthening the first team is important, Chelsea are always on the lookout for the stars of the future, and want to beat their rivals to them.
Chelsea are said to have tracked PSG teenager Senny Mayulu, and Mail Sport have reported they are set to target another South American.
Ordonez has caught the attention of Chelsea and Liverpool.
The report states Chelsea have held talks over a move for 15-year-old centre back Ordonez, who impressed at the South America under-20 Championships playing above his age group.
Mail Sport add his performances have already caught the eye of Liverpool, with Independiente del Valle believed to be willing to sell him in a deal structured in a similar way to Paez.
Ordonez is a left sided centre back, but despite not turning 18 until 2027, there’s reportedly talk of a £14m transfer fee.
Chelsea haven’t looked into the South American market much in the past, but under the new ownership they’ve been very aggressive in the market.
The Blues aren’t afraid to pay big fees for these young talents, and the deal for Estevao could end up costing the club £51.4m.

Andrey Santos at a reported £13m looks like a bargain, whilst Kendry Paez at just over £17m also looks great value for money.
It will be interesting to see how these players develop, and how many make it at Chelsea, but it appears the Blues could have a very South American feel to them over the coming years.
