Chelsea are targeting Frankfurt striker Hugo Ekitike and have approached both the player and the club according to reports.
The Blues are preparing for yet another busy summer and could fund their transfer business by selling as many as seven or eight players.
Chelsea face a critical window with the club looking to sign a striker, centre back and right footed attacker to bolster Enzo Maresca’s squad.
The main priority is a striker and Chelsea have paid the price for failing to sign an alternative to Nicolas Jackson both last summer and in January.
The Blues have been linked with a host names, but the strongest links have been with Ipswich striker Liam Delap, but they face fierce competition from Newcastle and Manchester United.

Ekitike is a name Chelsea have been credited with having interest in and journalist Fabrice Hawkins has provided an update on the 22-year-old’s future.
He took to X.com and said:
“Chelsea target Hugo Ekitike, the striker and Frankfurt agree to complete a transfer if the interests of all parties are respected.
“Frankfurt wants between 80 and 100 million €, several English clubs have approached the player and the club.
“Among them, Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea. The Blues’ interest is high. Paris Saint-Germain will have 20% of the capital gain made by the German club.”
Ekitike has scored 22 goals and registered 12 assists in 48 games in all competitions this season, and is regarded as one of the most promising strikers in Europe.
The Blues face competition from Ekitike, but it seems they’ve also got their eyes on Brighton forward Joao Pedro.
