Cristian Chivu has given the Inter Milan squad three days off from training following yesterday’s behind-closed-doors friendly win over Padova.
This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews. They report that the return to training will coincide with the internationals coming back.
Inter Milan faced off against Padova in a behind-closed-doors friendly match yesterday.
The Nerazzurri lined up with a back three of Yann Bisseck, Francesco Acerbi, and Tomas Palacios. These three were not on international duty during the break.
Meanwhile, Andy Diouf partnered Henrikh Mkhitaryan in a two-man central midfield.
Inter won the friendly match 3-1. However, the scoreline was hardly the important aspect.
Rather, Nerazzurri coach Cristian Chivu used the opportunity to observe the players who have not received national team call-ups, as his prepares for the season to really get into gear.

According to the Corriere dello Sport, Inter coach Cristian Chivu has given his players a few days to rest.
The Romanian doesn’t expect the squad back in training until Tuesday.
That will coincide with the players on international duty starting to return.
Therefore, Chivu will resume training as the internationals in the squad filter in and join the group.
Accordingly, next week will see preparations for the Derby d’Italia against Juventus really start to ramp up.
