AC Milan and AS Roma could potentially compete to try and bring Nottingham Forest defender Ola Aina back to Serie A, a report claims.

According to what is being reported by AS Roma Live, Roma have put Aina on their list in view of next summer given that his contract is set to expire, and he is a target regardless of whether the former Torino head coach Ivan Juric remains in the capital or not.

With his contract expiring, Aina is attractive both for financial reasons given he would be available on a free transfer and because he is able to operate both as a right-back and a left-back. These characteristics, according to their sources, have also attracted the attention of Milan.

The Rossoneri ‘remain vigilant about his contractual situation’ given that they might have to bring in at least one full-back next summer. With Davide Calabria and Alessandro Florenzi’s contracts expiring the end of the season, Aina could come in to replace them and challenge Emerson Royal for a starting spot.

Aina played for Chelsea’s youth academy before making the move to Torino, where he made 113 appearances. With Forest he has played 30 games, amassing one goal and one assist.
