Everton Eye Darío Osorio as Summer Transfer Market Takes Shape

Everton’s search for attacking reinforcements has taken them towards FC Midtjylland winger Darío Osorio, with Give Me Sport reporting that the Toffees have made contact over a possible summer deal.

Everton Interest Signals Clear Wide Player Priority

According to Give Me Sport, “Bournemouth, Crystal Palace and Everton have all approached the Danish club and are currently the main English clubs to watch.”

For Everton, this feels like a recruitment lead worth monitoring closely. David Moyes’ side are understood to be in the market for a new wide player, despite their intention to keep Iliman Ndiaye, who is reportedly admired by Manchester United.

Tyler Dibling’s difficult spell since arriving from Southampton has also sharpened the focus on the right flank. Osorio, who “is comfortable operating on both sides, but has been playing mostly off the right,” would offer tactical flexibility and direct running.

Osorio Profile Fits Everton’s Recruitment Needs

Osorio has produced eight goals and 10 assists this season, strong numbers for a 22 year old operating across different wide roles. He has also won 23 caps for Chile and has already passed 100 appearances for Midtjylland.

Give Me Sport adds that Midtjylland “have already rejected offers in excess of €20 million for the winger,” which gives Everton a clear sense of the financial level required.

That price is significant, but not excessive in a Premier League market where young, versatile attackers often carry inflated fees. His European experience and international exposure add further appeal.

Crystal Palace Also Monitoring Situation

Crystal Palace’s interest should not be ignored. Give Me Sport reports Palace may view Osorio as a “Right Wing-Back Option,” particularly depending on how their new manager shapes the side after Oliver Glasner.

Palace already have attacking depth, including Brennan Johnson, Yeremy Pino and Ismaïla Sarr, yet they are “still eyeing up more goals and creativity.” That could keep them firmly in the conversation.

Midtjylland Stance Sets Transfer Value

Despite Osorio signing a new four year contract in January, Give Me Sport states that “Midtjylland will not stand in Osorio’s way,” although “bids of €20m+ will be required.”

That makes this a live opportunity rather than a speculative link. Everton need speed, output and positional adaptability. Osorio appears to offer all three, while his comparison to Gareth Bale by former teammate Johnny Herrera will inevitably add intrigue.

Our View – EPL Index Analysis

From an Everton supporter’s perspective, this is exactly the type of profile that should generate interest. Osorio is young, productive, versatile and already battle tested beyond domestic football. Eight goals and 10 assists from wide areas is not decoration, it is impact.

Everton have too often lacked genuine unpredictability in the final third. If Dibling has not yet found rhythm, and if Jack Grealish remains complicated financially, Osorio could represent the smarter market play. He would not arrive as a finished superstar, but that may be the point. Everton need players with upside, hunger and resale value, not simply expensive names.

The key question is role. If Moyes sees him as a right sided attacker, he could immediately address a problem area. If he is viewed as a utility wide player, Everton must be careful not to dilute his development.

Crystal Palace being involved adds urgency. They have been sharp in this type of market before. Everton cannot afford to admire from a distance, then watch another Premier League club move decisively.

At €20m plus, this is not a bargain punt. It is a calculated investment. For Everton, that may be exactly what this summer requires.
