Striker Marcus Thuram could still make a shock departure from Inter Milan before the end of the summer transfer window.
This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Il Messaggero, via FCInter1908.
Striker Marcus Thuram had a release clause in his contract with Inter Milan. Any club that offers €85 million would automatically trigger the clause, and could sign the Frenchman without negotiating with Inter.
Thuram is still on the same five-year deal with the Nerazzurri that he signed in 2023. Therefore, the clause is nothing new.
And naturally, the existence of the release clause has been a worry for Inter.
Even though Thuram has not been at his best in recent months, particularly due to niggling injuries, the 27-year-old former Borussia Monchengladbach striker remains a key player for Inter.
Moreover, the France international’s form has long attracted interest from other clubs.

The release clause in Thuram’s deal has now expired, though. That is certainly positive news from Inter’s perspective.
Nevertheless, reports Il Messaggero, it is not unthinkable that Thuram could leave.
Of the big names in the squad, the Frenchman is not one who the Nerazzurri see as “unsellable.”
Therefore, if the right offer were to arrive, Inter would likely be ready to sit down at the negotiating table for Thuram.
