Alejandro Garnacho is again being linked with a move to Serie A, as Roma reportedly contacted Chelsea to ask about his availability on loan.

The 22-year-old Argentine had been the subject of a months-long tug of war last summer that eventually saw him reject a move to Napoli from Manchester United.

Instead, he opted for the €46.2m transfer to Chelsea, but it did not prove to be a wise decision, scoring eight goals with four assists in 43 competitive games.

Only 22 of those were in the starting XI and he is by no means guaranteed to get regular playing time this season either.

According to Sportitalia transfer pundit Alfredo Pedullà, Roma have made enquiries with Chelsea to see if Garnacho would be available on loan.

An option to buy could be included, and they have secured Champions League qualification for the first time in seven years, but it remains to be seen if the player would be open to it.

Roma are seeking a wide attacking player and their first choice is Mason Greenwood of Olympique Marseille, but that is proving difficult with a €50m asking price and high wages.
