Julian Ryerson is not expected to be sidelined for long after suffering an injury during Norway’s 1-2 extra-time defeat to England in the World Cup quarter-finals.

According to Ruhr Nachrichten, Borussia Dortmund expect the 28-year-old to return to team training as early as the beginning of August.

The update has a direct impact on Dortmund’s transfer plans, as the proposed sale of Yan Couto to Como 1907 was reportedly put on hold while the extent of Ryerson’s injury was being determined.

At the same time, Ryerson remains a transfer target for several clubs, having been linked with a move away from Dortmund in recent weeks.

Inter, however, are no longer pursuing the right-back and have withdrawn from the race for his signature, according to a recent report from Italy.
