Inter Milan are reportedly making strides in their pursuit of the sought-after Hajduk Split teenager Branimir Mlacic.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport via FCInterNews, the San Siro powerhouse has laid the groundwork for the youngster’s arrival.

Widely regarded as one of Croatia’s most promising talents, Branimir Mlacic could leave Poljud in January.

Indeed, the 18-year-old defender has generated plenty of interest in Europe, with several top clubs taking note of his progress.

Real Madrid and Olympique Marseille are in the mix, yet Inter have jumped to the head of the queue.

After reaching out to the player’s agent, Inter have made direct contact with Hajduk to discuss Mlacic’s transfer to Giuseppe Meazza.

Furthermore, Cristian Chivu’s men are pushing strongly to complete the move in the coming weeks.

Despite his burgeoning talent, Mlacic could be available on a cut-price deal, with Hajduk valuing their prized asset at only €5 million.

However, the prodigious center-back would not immediately join the first team.
