Sadio Mane could make an early return to European football, with Inter Milan contemplating a shock move for the Al-Nassr star.
According to Sport via FCInterNews, the Serie A champions are willing to give the former Liverpool forward the benefit of the doubt.
Despite spending last year and a half in the Middle East, Mane’s reputation from his time in Europe has not faded.
However, his career has been in freefall since departing Anfield in the summer of 2022.
Indeed, Mane stunned the footballing world when he announced his decision to quit Liverpool after six years.
That wasn’t a wise choice.
Mane failed to adapt to life at Bayern Munich, resulting in his immediate exit after just one season.
Al-Nassr offered the Senegal international an escape route from the Allianz Arena last summer.
But after less than two years in the desert, Mane could return to Europe’s top-five leagues.
Inter president Beppe Marotta sees the 32-year-old as a potential low-cost solution to bolster Simone Inzaghi’s frontline.
While the Nerazzurri wouldn’t have to break the bank to convince Al-Nassr to sell, Mane’s wages could pose an issue.
Indeed, the experienced winger boasts a lucrative contract in Riyadh.
