Inter Milan sporting director Piero Ausilio has reportedly set his sights on Lazio goalkeeper Ivan Provedel.
According to L’Interista, the Nerazzurri could make an approach for the 32-year-old in the summer.
Despite Lazio’s disappointing Serie A season, Ivan Provedel has been a rare shining light at the Stadio Olimpico.
Indeed, the Italian star has racked up an eye-catching 12 clean sheets in 27 league appearances this term.
However, he has missed the last two matches due to a shoulder injury, with Edoardo Motta taking his place in goal.
Meanwhile, this could prove Provedel’s last season in Rome, with Inter keen to bring him to San Siro in the summer.
Inter could part ways with Yann Sommer in June, though there’s still a chance for the veteran goalkeeper to pen a short-term contract extension.
Nevertheless, the runaway Serie A leaders are on the lookout for a new shot-stopper.
Despite identifying Guglielmo Vicario as an ideal replacement for the 37-year-old star, Inter are also monitoring other options.
Provedel could be one of the candidates to provide experienced backup duties at San Siro.
