Star playmaker Hakan Calhanoglu could reportedly leave Inter Milan in the summer, with the Nerazzurri preparing for a midfield overhaul.
According to Corriere dello Sport via FCInterNews, the Turkish megastar may not be the only notable midfield departure.
With less than two years left on his contract, Calhanoglu’s future at San Siro is hanging by a thread.
Indeed, Galatasaray have firmly set their sights on the 32-year-old despite a failed attempt to lure him to Istanbul last summer.
Meanwhile, Hakan Calhanoglu has endured an injury-hit season, making Inter reconsider keeping him in the squad next term.
Beppe Marotta must decide whether keeping an injury-prone player is worth the risk, especially considering his €6.5 million annual salary.
In addition to Calhanoglu, Inter could also sever ties with Davide Frattesi, who remains at the bottom of the pecking order.
Furthermore, the runaway Serie A leaders have reportedly decided against renewing Henrikh Mkhitaryan’s expiring contract.
Last but not least, Andy Diouf could leave on a season-long loan after failing to adapt to life in Italy.
On the other hand, Cristian Chivu’s men are vying for several targets, including Roma’s Manu Kone and Parma’s Mandela Keita.
It’s also worth noting that they’ve already decided to activate a buyback clause in their dael with Club Brugge for Aleksandar Stankovic.
