Inter Milan could lodge a winter bid for Torino star Samuele Ricci if Davide Frattesi completes a heavily expected transfer to Roma.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport via FCInter1908, Ricci would be Inter’s first choice to replace the former Sassuolo midfielder.

Frattesi’s future at Giuseppe Meazza is hanging by a thread.

Indeed, he’s been waiting for the club’s green light to leave since requesting a transfer earlier this month.

However, injuries to Hakan Calhanoglu and Henrikh Mkhitaryan have forced Inter to put Frattesi’s sale on hold.

While they’d still offload him for a fee of €45 million, no one has offered them a remotely close figure.

Inter Milan Ready to Intensify Interest in Samuele Ricci if Davide Frattesi Departs for Roma

Ricci has been Torino’s midfield mainstay, hence Urbano Cairo’s reluctance to part with the 23-year-old.

But a €30m bid could change his mind, with Inter’s arch-rivals AC Milan also contemplating a swoop for the Italy international.

Ricci would be Milan’s long-term replacement for Sandro Tonali.

However, unlike Inter, they will not make a move until the end of the season, handing the Nerazzurri a chance to strike.

Everything still depends on Frattesi, who seemingly wants to join Roma, but to no avail.
