As Real Madrid stares down the barrel of a season that could end trophyless, eyes are already turning toward summer reinforcement. According to Defensa Central, one of the names on Florentino Perez’s wishlist is Liverpool’s Alexis Mac Allister. The Argentine, fresh from lifting the Premier League title in his debut season at Anfield, is now being viewed in Madrid as a potential successor to Toni Kroos.
For Mac Allister, it’s been a rapid ascent: from Brighton stalwart to World Cup winner, and now Premier League champion. He’s tallied five goals and four assists across 30 starts for Liverpool, anchoring the midfield with assurance and calm under pressure. Little wonder Madrid are interested.
But Liverpool, buoyed by their title triumph, have reportedly set a firm valuation: €100 million (£85m, $114m). That’s more than double what they paid Brighton for him last summer – and Madrid’s current offer of £76.5m simply won’t cut it.
The timing of Madrid’s interest is telling. Carlo Ancelotti is expected to take the Brazil job, and Madrid’s midfield, once defined by the rhythm of Kroos and Luka Modrić, needs rejuvenation. But Liverpool are in no mood to entertain such courtship.
In fact, Mac Allister’s own words suggest Madrid’s pursuit may be wishful thinking. Speaking to TyC Sports, the Argentine addressed the speculation:
“I read the rumours and the news reaches me, but the important thing is the present. As much as the club loves me, if I play badly this weekend, they will lose interest. I’m fine at Liverpool and I don’t need to. So I have a lot of respect for the club and I don’t think it’s necessary to talk about other institutions.”
Following Liverpool’s title-clinching weekend, Mac Allister took to Instagram with a message that underlined not just his joy, but his emotional connection to the club:
“When I joined this club, I knew it was a special place. But what I’ve experienced this year has gone beyond anything I ever imagined… Every training session, every match, every time I stepped onto the pitch at Anfield… I felt the weight of this shirt and the passion of a unique fanbase.”
These are not the words of a man eyeing a transfer. These are the words of a player who’s living a dream — one that includes a fresh Premier League medal and a fanbase that’s embraced him fully.
Madrid may still dream. But Liverpool, with Mac Allister tied down and clearly content, are not just financially insulated but emotionally invested in keeping him. Any club looking to tempt him away now faces a two-pronged resistance: the club’s valuation, and the player’s own voice.

The message is clear: Liverpool’s champions are not for sale. Not now. Not cheaply.
From a Liverpool fan’s perspective, it’s heartening — if not a little predictable — to see Real Madrid circling yet again. First Mo Salah, then Trent Alexander-Arnold, and now Alexis Mac Allister. But unlike past years where interest from Madrid might have stirred uncertainty, this moment feels different.
Liverpool have just reclaimed the Premier League title. Players like Mac Allister are key to the present and the future. His on-pitch intelligence, press resistance, and humility off the pitch make him one of the most balanced midfielders in Europe.
Madrid’s valuation shows their interest is serious, but their offer also shows they may not fully grasp Mac Allister’s value to Liverpool. He’s not just a tactical cog — he’s quickly become part of the club’s identity. Selling him now would send the wrong message in a summer that should be about consolidation, not sacrifice.
Yes, every player has a price. But for once, it feels like Liverpool are not just holding the line — they’re setting it. And with Mac Allister himself showing no signs of wandering eyes, fans can feel reassured. He’s not going anywhere.
