Liverpool attacker Darwin Nunez has been linked with a move away from the club in recent months, and the Uruguayan international is expected to move on in the summer.
The 25-year-old attacker has not been able to live up to the expectations since the big-money move from Benfica, and he was linked with an exit in January as well. According to GiveMeSport, the player had already agreed on personal terms with a Saudi Arabian club in January, but Liverpool decided to hold onto him.
Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that the player will leave in the summer, unless there is a major surprise. The South American striker has not been able to produce the goods, and it is the right time for Liverpool to cash in on him and bring in an upgrade. It will be interesting to see if they can sign a reliable striker.
They have missed a clinical presence upfront, and they have been linked with multiple players recently. Nunez remains a quality player, but his decision-making in front of the goal leaves a lot to be desired. The South American has 14 goal contributions in all competitions. He could prove to be a quality player in the right team.
It is unlikely that Liverpool will be able to recoup the kind of money they paid for the striker, and they will have to accept a loss on him. It remains to be seen of the situation develops.

Improving the attacking unit should be their priority in the summer. They have been overly dependent on Mohamed Salah. Apart from a quality centre forward, they should aim to sign a dynamic attacker capable of slotting anywhere across the front line.
Meanwhile, Nunez will look to get his career back on track with regular football at another club, and he will look to regain his form and confidence as well.
