Marseille winger Luis Henrique is now one step away from completing a transfer to Inter Milan.
This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews.
Inter Milan have decided on Luis Henrique as their priority target at wingback.
The Brazilian is the player the Nerazzurri want as backup and competition for Denzel Dumfries on the right flank.
Inter already have a number of options on the flanks. Matteo Darmian has been the main backup for Dumfries for a few seasons now.
But the Nerazzurri are prioritizing adding real quality in the role. Particularly with Darmian now 35 and being phased out, as well as also playing in defense.

Having set their sights on Luis Henrique, Inter have been working on a transfer for weeks now.
The Nerazzurri initially identified the Brazilian as a target in the spring. They began negotiations with Marseille in March.
And those talks have been ongoing ever since then.
There were other clubs to have showed an interest in Henrique’s signature.
German champions Bayern Munich particularly looked to rival Inter for the Brazilian. As did Champions League hopefuls Newcastle United and Nottingham Forest from the Premier League.
However, Inter look set to win the race to sign Luis Henrique.
The Nerazzurri already have an agreement in hand with the player on a five-year contract.
Then, reports the Gazzetta, the contacts between Inter and Marseille regarding a prospective transfer are ongoing.
Marseille had initially asked for a fee of €35 million for Henrique. Then they dropped their demands to €30 million.
According to the Gazzetta dello Sport, the French club have further lowered their asking price. Meanwhile, for their part Inter have also been inching up their offer.
Therefore, the newspaper anticipate, it’s only a matter of time. Inter will seal the signing of Henrique before the Club World Cup this summer.
