Report: Milan reject €35m Galatasaray offer for Leao | OneFootball

Milan have rejected an offer from Galatasaray for Rafael Leão, judging the Turkish club’s opening bid too low for their number 10.

According to Tuttomercatoweb, relaying Gianluca Di Marzio, Galatasaray tabled a proposal worth around €30m plus €5m in bonuses to sign the Portugal forward on a permanent basis.

Milan turned it down, holding out for a higher figure for a player they still regard, at least in status, as one of the faces of the club. Whether the Istanbul side return with an improved offer remains to be seen.

Leão’s stance the key unknown for Milan

Complicating the picture is the player himself. Leão is said to be settled and working well under new coach Rúben Amorim, having been reintegrated after his exit had earlier looked likely, leaving it unclear whether he would even sanction a move to Turkey. His camp, however, appears to be keeping options open.

Indeed, reports from England suggest Leão’s entourage has offered the winger to several Premier League clubs to gauge the scope for a transfer.

Alongside Manchester United and Arsenal, the sides said to have been contacted include newly promoted Leeds United, a surprising name given the gulf in ambition between the Yorkshire club and a forward of Leão’s international standing.

For now, then, the situation remains fluid: a rejected bid from Galatasaray, a player seemingly content at San Siro, and an entourage testing the waters elsewhere. As has been the case all summer, Leão’s future is far from resolved.
