Croatian attacking midfielder Lovro Majer's comeback from an early season ankle injury on Saturday unfortunately didn't last very long. The 26-year-old entered proceedings in the 57th minute of Saturday's 1-1 draw with Augsburg, lasting only 11 minutes before having to be subbed off.
Speaking at a post-match presser, VfL trainer Ralph Hasenhüttl expressed fear that the 34-times capped Vatrenti international suffered a serious muscle injury that would rule him out of action again for the medium term.
The local Wolfsburger Allgemein Zeitung reports that a fresh hamstring injury will keep Majer sidelined until December at the earliest. Majer scored five goals for Wolfsburg last season and opened up the current campaign with a brace in an opening day loss to Bayern.
Without the actor whom many consider to be the most reliable on the roster of the northern Autostädter, Wolfsburg have continued to struggle this season. Germany's green company team currently sit in 14th place on nine points in the Bundesliga table through nine rounds.
