The international break is notorious for harming Barcelona when it comes to player injuries. That unfortunate trend continues to be a hindrance, as yet another Barça player has now succumbed to an injury.
Brazilian forward Raphinha, who had finally regained his form and was playing at his best level again, was recently injured during Brazil’s international outing against France. Taken off at half-time due to some discomfort, further clarification over his situation has now arrived.
According to AS, the player has an injury in the biceps femoris of his right thigh and this is a worrying early indication. After all, it is the same muscle that kept him sidelined for multiple weeks during this season already while he was previously out injured.

However, further tests are yet to confirm whether or not the injury this time around is just a strain or a tear. If it is the latter, that spells bad news for the club, as their South American star could then potentially miss crucial games against Atletico Madrid and possibly even be a doubt for the league clash against Real Madrid in May.
A strain, on the other hand, would be much more manageable in comparison. While it would still likely keep him sidelined for the game against Atletico Madrid in La Liga, he might possibly still make it back in time for the upcoming UEFA Champions League quarterfinal tie against the same opponent and that could be good news by itself for the club.
For now, further tests are pending and they will end up confirming what the true severity of the injury really is. Until then, Barcelona will likely keep their fingers crossed hoping for some good news regarding one of their most important players ahead of a very demanding part of the ongoing season.
