Rangers will receive their full allocation ahead of the post-split Glasgow Derby at Celtic Park. The fallout from the weekend’s Scottish Cup Quarter Final has rumbled on with a number of pundits stating that the away allocation should get cut.

After Celtic secured the win at Ibrox, there were ugly scenes as Rangers fans entered the pitch, attacked members of the Celtic squad, Police and stewards before attempting to confront Celtic supporters in the Free Broomloan.

According to the Daily Record’s Keith Jackson, who is closely placed with the Ibrox club, there have been talks with the league and the Police with no issues regarding the current plan.

“As things stand, I am led to believe anyway, there has been no attempt to alter the agreement which is already in place for this season for away allocations. As things stand, Rangers will get the same allocation that they had previously which is around 2500 in that corner at the away end at Celtic Park.

“Let me tell you something, the police better up their game.

“Whether it is inside the stadium, around the stadium, during the the match – they have to be far more visible and mindful than they were at the weekend.“

It remains to be seen whether Celtic will speak out about the disorder, their silence has been criticised by the Police. However; the Police could have easily managed the situation by putting a cordon in place to stop encroachment from the stands.

The Police have attributed the blame to supporters while citing that one group were celebrating while the others were there to confront and fight. The fallout will continue with further speculation about whether Celtic will allow Rangers supporters into Celtic Park, especially given the behaviour from the Ibrox support in the last game.

It is expected that the Green Brigade will be absent at Celtic Park for the remainder of the season after reports that their meeting with the club did not go to plan. From a sporting point of view, why would the club want to allow the Rangers ultras into the ground while Celtic have their own locked out.
