As reported by CuleMania, it has come to light that Barcelona have decided to delay Ferran Torres’ contract talks for now.

It must be noted that while the club is very pleased with his performances and the player is also happy with his current role, both sides believe it is not the right moment to start renewal discussions.

The reason behind this pause is quite simple: Ferran is in top form and fully focused on helping the team. With Robert Lewandowski out injured, Torres has stepped up as the main striker.

He has taken on the responsibility well, scoring important goals and proving his worth week in, week out. Everyone close to him sees the delay in contract talks as a positive sign.

It means he is doing so well on the pitch that there’s no rush to sit down and talk about deals. Right now, his eyes are set on scoring goals, not on signatures or contracts.

Timing not right for renewal talks

Even though Deco began working on contract extensions during the winter, especially for players whose deals end in 2026, Torres’ renewal is not a priority just yet.

His contract, like those of Raphinha and Jules Kounde, still has time left. On top of that, the club is currently stretched thin financially and can’t make any big moves for now.

Despite all that, Ferran’s form is speaking for itself. He has been scoring in the biggest games of the season, including against Real Madrid in the Copa del Rey final and Inter Milan in the Champions League.

His performances are making fans temporarily forget about Lewandowski. At 25, Torres is matching the Polish striker’s stats, scoring or assisting every 92 minutes. That is the kind of impact that earns you a new deal, not words.

Those around Ferran are proud of how far he has come. They see this season as a reward for his hard work and determination.

The renewal talks may be paused, but if he keeps this up, it is only a matter of time before Barcelona offer him a well-deserved new contract.

For now, the Spaniard remains a key figure in Barça’s attack, and everyone is happy to let his boots do the talking.
