There is not much that FC Barcelona can do right now in terms of signing players immediately. The club remains interested in doing so, but their financial situation remains problematic. For now, solving that remains a big priority for Barcelona.
Once the club is able to resolve those pending issues, other operations would become that much simpler to resolve as well. At the moment, the top target for Barcelona this summer in terms of a summer arrival is still Liverpool winger Luis Diaz as Hansi Flick wants a new left-winger.
However, signing the 28-year-old Colombian winger is extremely complicated right now and that is due to several major factors. One of those major factors is the price tag that Liverpool have reportedly attached to the player, and the second is Bayern Munich’s insistence on signing him this summer.

Barcelona, on the other hand, is unwilling to give in to either of those two pressures. According to Mundo Deportivo, the Catalan giants are not planning to do anything crazy to sign Diaz this summer and will only offer as much money as is feasible for them without overextending themselves.
At the moment, MD reports that Barça is not willing to go over the €60 million mark for the Colombian winger. Interestingly, the report also suggests that this is the amount that the club had originally set aside for the signing of a new left-winger this summer.
Unfortunately for Barcelona, certain circumstances make it difficult for Liverpool to let go of Luis Diaz for a fee close to €60 million. Considering the tragic passing of Portuguese forward Diogo Jota and Liverpool still looking to sign certain forwards this summer, the uncertainty of their situation makes it hard for them to consider letting go of Diaz.
Still, the brutal reality for Barcelona also extends over to what Bayern is able to do. If the German giants ends up making an offer around the €75-80 million mark and the proposal is accepted by Liverpool, Barcelona would be able to do nothing then.
After all, Diaz seems to have a preference towards joining Bayern Munich this summer. As for Barça, they are an option that Diaz is considering as well but the uncertainties in relation to that operation are understandably worrying.
For now, the operation remains quite complicated for Barcelona at the moment. Yet, the club continues to wait for Diaz to put more pressure on Liverpool internally, as that would potentially enable Barça to have a better chance of getting something out of this operation.
