Roma winger Matias Soule is reportedly looking to recover for the upcoming Serie A showdown against Inter Milan.
According to FCInterNews, the Argentine forward is facing a race against time to make himself available for this clash.
With Paulo Dybala spending most of the season in the treatment room, Soule has emerged as Roma’s standout performer.
Indeed, he has tallied six goals and four assists in 25 Serie A appearances this term.
However, Gian Piero Gasperini has been unable to call upon the 23-year-old in Roma’s last five league games.
Moreover, the Giallorossi registered partial success in that period, racking up two wins, one draw, and two defeats.
Sidelined with a groin injury, Soule missed Roma’s narrow 1-0 home win over Lecce on the stroke of the international break.
Despite his absence, Gasperini’s men have maintained a three-point deficit to fourth-placed Como.
Therefore, they remain firmly in contention for their first top-four finish since the 2017/18 season.
However, it also means that Roma cannot afford a slip-up at San Siro.
Soule’s return to fitness would hand Gasperini a major boost ahead of this fixture, but it’s still uncertain whether the youngster will recover in time.
