Reports in Italy claim that Roma and head coach Gian Piero Gasperini want to bring USA starboy Christian Pulisic to the Stadio Olimpico and hope that Milan’s failure to qualify for the Champions League could be a major boost to their chances of securing a deal.
Pulisic is currently away on national team duty, preparing to take on Paraguay as the USA open their home World Cup campaign at the SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles.
Back in Italy, however, there are growing reports that Pulisic is unsettled by the current situation at Milan and that he, along with several other Rossoneri stars, could be minded to leave following the team’s failure to qualify for next season’s Champions League.
Milan are currently without a head coach, sporting director, technical director or CEO after the club decided to dismiss Massimiliano Allegri, Igli Tare, Geoffrey Moncada and Giorgio Furlani the day after the 2025-26 season ended as a result of the Champions League disaster.
Aside from the senior management team, there have also been reports that a string of key first team players, including Rafael Leao, Luka Modric, Adrien Rabiot and Mike Maignan could say farewell to Milan this summer as well.
Pulisic is the latest player to be added to that list, and Friday’s reports claim that Roma are particularly keen to add the former Chelsea and Borussia Dortmund attacker to their ranks.

This is a story that was originally reported by Radio Mana Mana, and updates from Calciomercato.com claim that the rumours are increasingly viable.
Roma are actively seeking a new attacker to add to their squad for 2026-27 and recent reports claimed that they have been in discussions over a potential deal for former Manchester United forward Mason Greenwood.
However, Friday’s reports claim that Gasperini is a big fan of Pulisic’s and that the coach has specifically requested the signing of the American.

As Milan do not have a senior management team in place, no formal talks have taken place yet.
Milan have been attempting to tie Pulisic down to a new long-term contract extension, but that has not yet materialised and it may now be a tougher task to convince the 27-year-old to commit his future to Milan given the current instability across the club.
Pulisic’s current contract is set to expire in the summer of 2027, but Milan have an option to extend that agreement by a further 12 months until 2028.
