Tottenham’s pursuit of Omar Marmoush is gathering real momentum, with fresh discussions under way over a move that could become one of the most intriguing Premier League deals of the summer. According to TeamTalk, the Manchester City forward is open to joining Spurs as he weighs up his next step in search of more regular football.
The key point in this developing situation is clear. “Omar Marmoush is keen on joining Tottenham Hotspur,” and that willingness appears to have given Spurs encouragement in what could become a major move for Roberto De Zerbi’s side. Tottenham “opened talks with City over Marmoush earlier this week” and have already “quickly established themselves as a serious option for the 27-year-old striker.”

Marmoush arrived at City from Eintracht Frankfurt in January 2025 for around £60 million and initially made a strong impression, scoring seven goals and adding two assists. Yet the broader picture has become more complicated. Much of his football came from wide areas, rather than the central attacking position in which he had previously thrived in Germany.
That positional reality matters. As reported, “he would not be first choice in the central role he wants,” and with Erling Haaland remaining the leading presence through the middle, the route to sustained starts has looked narrow. City’s attacking depth has only grown further, with added competition reinforcing that challenge.
For Tottenham, this is where opportunity lies. “That has led Marmoush to consider his options, with Tottenham now providing a route towards the regular football he is seeking.” In a market where availability, timing and player preference often decide the outcome, Spurs appear well placed.

This story does not stand alone. Tottenham’s conversations over Marmoush are moving in parallel with discussions over Savinho, in what has been described as a possible £140 million double deal. Spurs are “prepared to spend around £140million on the two players combined if they can reach agreement.”
There are, naturally, financial parameters. City are willing to listen, but “they want to recover at least the £60million they paid Frankfurt.” That valuation sets an obvious benchmark for negotiations, and it will likely shape whether Tottenham can finalise terms swiftly or whether this becomes a longer process.

Encouragingly for Spurs, “personal terms have already been discussed with Marmoush’s representatives” and “his camp are happy with what they have heard from Tottenham.” That does not complete the transfer, but it is a significant early step and often a useful indicator of intent on all sides.
Other clubs, including Barcelona, have made checks, yet the attraction of staying in England appears important. The report states that “remaining in the Premier League and securing regular first-team football is a major attraction to the Egypt international.” Tottenham can offer both ambition and a prominent role, which may prove decisive.
Marmoush is also “expected to become an important part of Roberto De Zerbi’s plans in north London,” potentially alongside Savinho if Spurs can complete both deals. Tottenham continue to monitor Cody Gakpo too, although Liverpool are a far tougher negotiating counterpart at present.
For now, the position is straightforward. The player is interested, Spurs are pushing, and City are open to a sale at the right price. “For Marmoush, the next step is now with the clubs,” and that is where attention will remain in the days ahead.
From a Tottenham supporter’s perspective, this report feels genuinely exciting. Marmoush looks like exactly the sort of attacking signing Spurs should be targeting, a player with pace, flexibility and a point to prove. If he wants regular football and believes Tottenham is the place to get it, that says plenty about the project De Zerbi is building.
What stands out most is the idea that he would have a meaningful role straight away. Spurs need more threat, more unpredictability and more players who can attack defenders with confidence. Marmoush offers that. He has already shown he can produce in high-level environments, and joining from Manchester City would give Tottenham a player accustomed to elite standards.
The Savinho angle makes it even more thrilling. If Spurs could land both in one window, the attack would suddenly look quicker, sharper and far more dynamic. There would be a real sense that the club is not merely adding depth, but reshaping the frontline with purpose.
Supporters will always be wary until deals are signed, especially when figures of this size are involved. Even so, this feels like the kind of ambitious move fans want to see. Marmoush is at a strong age, he has Premier League experience, and he appears hungry for a bigger role. If Tottenham can get this over the line, it would feel like a statement signing and a real boost ahead of the new season.
