Some rather surprising transfer news has arrived regarding Strahinja Pavlovic, who could leave AC Milan after just a few months.
When Milan signed Pavlovic from Red Bull Salzburg during the summer window, investing what was widely reported to be €18m plus bonuses, it was believed that the club had acquired a centre-back who could contribute not just in the future but also in the present.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic was present at his unveiling in August and introduced him to the media as follows: “He’s an animal. We did everything to bring him here. He will enter the hearts of the fans. Just look at him and you’re scared.”
However, the Serbia international gradually fell into a bit-part role under Paulo Fonseca after a couple of rough performances. The hierarchies have not changed since Sergio Conceicao arrived, with the new boss preferring Fikayo Tomori and Malick Thiaw or Matteo Gabbia.
According to Matteo Moretto of Relevo and also MilanNews, it is possible that Milan will sell Pavlovic after just six months at the club with some interest having been expressed in Turkey.
Fenerbahçe have been pushing for the signing of the defender for several days now, and negotiations are ongoing between the clubs.
