AC Milan and Inter have been engaged with the Mayor of Milan for several months about the possibilities of renovating San Siro, and a report has claimed there will be a meeting next month to discuss the opportunities.

It has been a long process to get to here with the San Siro renovation, and there have been plenty of bumps in the road.

WeBuild first came forward with the offer of taking on the project in February, but the engineering company did not actually meet with representatives of both clubs until late June. Even then, there were faults with the meeting, with reports suggesting the meeting was a ‘manifestation of intent’ rather than anything concrete.

At the start of August, the plans were eventually passed onto the two clubs, and now there are indications that discussions will occur ‘within the first two weeks of September’ about the opportunities of renovating the iconic stadium, according to La Repubblica (via Milan News).

The Milan City Council have returned after a summer break and sorting the stadium is among the priorities, and there is a ‘timid light’ at the end of the tunnel. However, both clubs are believed to still prefer their own projects.
