Resink double punishes Volendam as Groningen climb to fifth | OneFootball

Groningen beat Volendam 3-0 at Euroborg on Saturday to rise from sixth to fifth in the Eredivisie.

Mawouna Amevor was sent off in the 28th minute for the visitors. Stije Resink then struck from outside the box to break the deadlock (38.).

After the restart, Thom van Bergen burst forward and fed Brynjolfur Willumsson to sweep in the second (74.).

A handball by Nick Verschuren led to a penalty (87.). VAR confirmed the spot kick and Resink converted into the bottom left (89.).

Kayne van Oevelen made smart saves from Willumsson early on and David van der Werff late on, but the ten men were pinned back.
