Inter Milan star Piotr Zielinski clarified his recent comments about Simone Inzaghi after Sunday’s emphatic 3-1 home victory over Bologna.
Speaking to Domenica Sportiva via FCInterNews, the 31-year-old also hailed Inter’s performance last night.
Piotr Zielinski scored his second Serie A goal of the season, returning to the scoresheet for the first time since early November.
Indeed, the Polish midfielder opened his league account for 2025/26 with a stunning strike against Hellas Verona.
However, that piece of art came at Stadio Marc’Antonio Bentegodi.
Therefore, he was waiting for his first home goal of the campaign until yesterday.
Zielinski made the wait worthwhile, as he opened the scoring with a remarkable left-footed finish.
His goal set the tone for Inter’s revenge-poised triumph, with Lautaro Martinez and Marcus Thuram completing the score.
In doing so, he probably cemented his place in the starting lineup at the expense of Henrikh Mkhitaryan.
The Armenian veteran was ahead of Zielinski in the pecking order under Simone Inzaghi last term.
Yet, the situation has changed under Cristian Chivu.

“I said that this season I started from the third line,” Zielinski said after the game. “I have nothing against Inzaghi.
“He wanted me at Inter, and I thank him. I had an unlucky year, with small problems from the start and then bigger ones that affected my entire season.
“But that’s the past; this season, we have to win as many games as possible and enjoy ourselves.
“I’ve started smiling again, wanting to have fun,” he added. “The guys help me a lot.
“We’re doing well, and I try to give my contribution because I know I can offer so much to this team, and I’ll try to do it in every game.”
Finally, he hailed Inter’s return to the top of the Serie A table.
“Being top of the table again is a nice feeling, but there are still so many matches to play.
“The others are also picking up points, so we have to do our part and hope to stay first until the end.
