Manchester City fans will be greeted by an exciting new addition at the Etihad Stadium in time for the start of the 2025/26 season, it can be revealed.
The Etihad Stadium has undergone steady transformation over the course of the past decade in particular, both structurally and digitally as club officials and decision makers look to maintain their position at the forefront of the global game.
From expanded seating areas and hospitality upgrades to improved digital connectivity and entertainment zones, Manchester City’s home has become one of the most forward-thinking venues in European football.
Now, with the ongoing North Stand expansion set to deliver increased capacity and fan facilities, new features are being added elsewhere in the stadium to further enhance the visual and interactive experience.
The work forms part of the wider ‘Etihad Campus’ vision — aimed at turning the surrounding area into a world-class sporting and entertainment hub, paired alongside the hugely successful operation of the adjacent Co-Op Live destination.
Once complete, the latest redevelopment at the Etihad Stadium will include a fan zone, new food and beverage outlets and offerings, an on-site hotel, and an expanded club shop, in addition to thousands of new seats inside the stadium itself.
Manchester City’s attention to matchday detail has long been one of the most impressive aspects of their growth off the pitch — and the latest update only reinforces that commitment to fan experience.
As provided by journalist Edward Burnett, the latest look at ongoing work inside the Etihad Stadium ahead of the 2025/26 season showcases impressive progress on the expansion of the arena’s North Stand.
Insight also revealed that a new giant screen will be introduced into the South Stand, expected to be bigger than the existing two screens housed either side of the North Stand.
However, the report confirms words from Manchester City staff, who insist that there are currently no plans for a fourth screen in the remaining corner of the Etihad Stadium.

Matchday visuals — from team line-ups and goal replays to pre-match light shows — have become a core part of the Etihad Stadium’s entertainment, and this upgrade is expected to elevate that experience even further.
Positioned to complement the expanding North Stand, the new screen is said to eclipse the current displays in both size and resolution. While some supporters may question why a fourth screen isn’t being introduced to create symmetry across the venue, City appear to be taking a measured approach, likely based on sightlines, architectural logistics, and overall budget allocation.
Looking ahead, the full completion of the North Stand expansion — which will push the Etihad’s capacity to over 60,000 — remains on track, with several new hospitality tiers and general admission areas also being finalised.
The new screen, combined with the modernised infrastructure, is part of City’s broader goal to create one of the most immersive stadium experiences in world football. Fans attending early-season home fixtures this August may be among the first to enjoy the upgraded setup in real time.
As always, the club will be expected to roll out launch content and promotional events around the changes — turning what might seem like a small infrastructure tweak into a memorable, high-tech moment for supporters.
