The signing of defender Tomas Palacios will have a weight of around €2.41 million per year on the balance sheet of Inter Milan.

This according to Italian outlet Calcio e Finanza. They detail the cost of the Argentine’s arrival for the Nerazzurri.

Now it is only a matter of time. Inter have everything in place to sign 21-year-old Argentina Under-20 international Palacios.

Palacios is the player who Inter have settled on as their defensive reinforcement for the summer transfer window.

There had been plenty of profiles that the Nerazzurri had considered.

There had been the idea of an experienced stopgap solution on a free transfer. The Nerazzurri considered the likes of Ricardo Rodriguez and Mario Hermoso.

Then, Inter had reportedly been on the verge of a deal for defender Juan Cabal before he instead joined Juventus.

Meanwhile the likes of Zenit St. Petersburg’s Robert Renan, Arsenal’s Jakub Kiwior, and Genoa’s Johan Vazquez have also been on the Nerazzurri’s radar.

More recently, links have emerged to Nantes defender Nathan Zeze, Dinamo Zagreb defender Mauro Perkovic, and Valencia defender Yarek Gasiorowski.

However, after considering all these potential targets, Palacios is the player Inter have decided upon.

Palacios is in Milan right now. He arrived yesterday ahead of his move.

The Argentine will undergo his medicals this morning, and then put pen to paper on a five-year contract with the Nerazzurri.

As Calcio e Finanza note, Inter will pay a fee of €6.5 million between Talleres and Independiente Rivadivia to sign Palacios.

Over the course of a five-year contract, that will be amortized to around €1.3 million per year.

That is not including the potential €4.5 million in add-ons.

Then there is the matter of Palacios’s wages. The defender will earn around €600,000 net per season.

In terms of gross expenditure, that amounts to just over €1.1 million per year for Inter.

Therefore, the weight of the Argentine’s signing in the balance sheet will be around €2.41 million, reports Calcio e Finanza.
