FC Bayern is bringing back the nostalgia: the „Legends Cup“ will be held at the SAP Garden on January 18, 2026 – with stars such as Franck Ribéry, Arjen Robben and Philipp Lahm.

The SAP Garden in Munich will once again become a stage for soccer romance. After the „Beckenbauer Cup“, a tribute to Bayern icon Franz Beckenbauer, thrilled over 9,500 fans last winter, the next legends spectacle is already on the cards for January 2026. The „FC Bayern Legends Cup“ promises a top-class indoor tournament – in the style of the classic football magic that once characterized the winter breaks and electrified fans all over Germany.

On January 18, 2026, the FC Bayern Legends will face all-star teams from Real Madrid, Juventus Turin, Celtic Glasgow and Eintracht Frankfurt.

Back to the old magic with Ribéry and Robben

The line-up of the Bayern team will make the hearts of all nostalgics beat faster. With Franck Ribéry and Arjen Robben, the legendary wingers of the record champions are back together. Both shaped an era, stood for breathtaking dribbles, dangerous finishes – and countless goosebump moments. The prospect of seeing the two of them together on the pitch once again is probably worth the entrance fee alone for many fans.

World champion Philipp Lahm will also be there again – this time as coach of the Bayern Legends team. He already led his team to the title at last year’s Beckenbauer Cup and is looking forward to seeing former teammates and companions again.

Lahm explains: „I am delighted to be coaching the FC Bayern Legends at the ‚Legends Cup‘. A reunion with former teammates is always special – it brings back many fond memories. The tournament brings together many familiar faces from world soccer and offers a very special soccer experience. We want to inspire the fans – and of course win the trophy again in the end.“

The Beckenbauer Cup as an emotional prelude

A look back shows the impact such tournaments can have. The „Beckenbauer Cup“ attracted thousands of fans to the SAP Garden as part of FC Bayern’s 125th club anniversary. The team led by captain Giovane Élber won 4:0 in the final against Real Madrid legends Iker Casillas and Pepe. The semi-final against Borussia Dortmund was also a spectacle that brought back memories of previous classics.

The Legends Cup aims to build on this: an event full of emotion, the art of soccer and reunions with big names from Europe’s top clubs.
