Liverpool only have a couple of weeks until the summer transfer window slams shut.
The Anfield outfit have been linked with countless different players this summer but, only three signings have been made.
And, while each of these additions will be helpful for Liverpool in one way or another, none of them really feel like deals that will make them world-beaters again.
However, with all the players that they've been linked to, there are some who could end up making a massive difference.
Obviously, Andoni Iraola still has a few problems that need to be ironed out but, with the latest news to emerge from Anfield, it seems like Richard Hughes definitely has his back.
One of the main areas that Liverpool still need to upgrade is their attack.
Hugo Ekitike is out of action until at least 2027 and, now that Mohamed Salah has left, they don't have a world-class right-winger among their ranks.
Of course, several Liverpool players can be used there if needed but, if they're wanting to get back to the top, they need someone just as good, or as good as Salah to come in.
As mentioned, many players have already been linked but now, thanks to an update from French journalist Fabrice Hawkins, discussions for Liverpool's moves for Ibrahim Mbaye and Bradley Barcola are set to continue this week.
"Bradley Barcola and Ibrahim Mbaye are not on the match sheet for the Trophée des champions against Lens," he shared via X.
"The two PSG wingers are on their way out. Liverpool still wants to recruit both players. Discussions will continue next week."
Ever since Yan Diomande's Liverpool deal fell through, Barcola has been their main target in attack.
The Frenchman only has two years left on his deal with Paris Saint-Germain and, since he was left out of a fair few important games by Luis Enrique last term, he wanted to seek pastures new.
The 23-year-old is fairly versatile and can be used anywhere across the front three if needed but, the fact that he's a natural left-winger means that he's probably going to be used there instead.
This is likely to be one of the main reasons why Cody Gakpo has been so extensively linked with joining Tottenham this summer.
Mbaye is another player who has been recently linked. Despite being just 18 years old, the attacker is a fully-fledged international for Senegal and has even played in 42 games across all competitions for the Ligue 1 outfit during his two seasons in their senior squad.
Each of these players would provide some much needed quality to Liverpool and, crucially, they'd give Iraola many more options to choose from and a much better chance of delivering some silverware to L4 this season.
However, every deal has a maximum price that they should pay up to so, as long as PSG's valuations don't get too high, this is a double deal that Liverpool should definitely try and complete.
