Mexico have named their squad for the friendly against Iceland on Wednesday, 25 February at Estadio Corregidora in Querétaro. The federation announced the call-up.
Head coach Javier Aguirre’s selections are required to report from Sunday.
As it is not an official FIFA international window, players based outside Mexico were not called. The squad is made up exclusively of Liga MX players.
Mexican-Americans Brian Gutiérrez, formerly of Chicago Fire and now with Chivas, has opted to represent Mexico as he targets a place at the 2026 World Cup. Richard Ledezma, previously with the USMNT, has also chosen Mexico. Efraín Álvarez of Chivas, formerly LA Galaxy, is included.
Chivas’ contingent features Raúl Rangel, Richard Ledezma, Diego Campillo, Brian Gutiérrez, Efraín Álvarez, Roberto Alvarado and Armando González. América and Toluca supplied four players each.
