Rico Lewis has committed his long-term future to Manchester City after putting pen to paper on a new five-year contract that will keep him at the Etihad until 2030.

The 20-year-old full-back, who also slots comfortably into midfield, has extended his existing deal by a further two years, with his previous terms set to expire in 2028.

A product of City’s academy, Lewis has already racked up 97 senior appearances since making his debut in August 2022. During that time, he’s collected an impressive medal haul, including two Premier League crowns, an FA Cup, a Champions League triumph and a FIFA Club World Cup.

Speaking to the club's media team, Lewis said: "Manchester City means everything to me so to have been given the opportunity to sign this new contract is such a special moment both for me personally and my family," Lewis said.

"I am still improving and developing as a player, and I know that the opportunity to carry on working with Pep, his coaching team and our amazing squad will only help me to keep getting better.

"I have spent so much of my life at this club. City means everything to me, so to be able to stay longer makes me incredibly happy."
