FC Bayern continues to look for reinforcements for the squad in the background. The situation at right-back in particular is causing a lot of internal discussion. Now a well-known name from the Premier League is once again coming into focus.

At the center of the current considerations at FC Bayern Munich is a player who has been known to those responsible for some time. According to information from TEAMtalk, the Munich club have had their eye on Diogo Dalot for some time and have been monitoring the right-back for a long period of time. The Portuguese is currently under contract at Manchester United and is part of the regular staff there.

The 26-year-old has made 23 competitive appearances this season, scoring one goal and assisting two others. Dalot is a permanent fixture at United and is constantly earning playing time at a high level, so a transfer is unlikely to be a foregone conclusion.

Unclear distribution of roles on the right flank

The personnel situation on the right side of defence remains tense at FC Bayern. Sacha Boey no longer plays a role under coach Vincent Kompany and is to be sold. Konrad Laimer has impressed with consistent performances, but is actually a trained midfielder and is currently injured.

In addition, Josip Stanisic is being used regularly after several injuries, but has not shown any major signs of improvement. Munich therefore still lack a classic right-back at top international level.

There were already rumours about Dalot and FC Bayern in March last year, but these were not considered to be very concrete. At the time, it was said that the name was being discussed internally without being a priority. Even now, there are many indications that this is more a long-term observation than an acute transfer intention.

How the plans for this position develop will also depend on possible departures and the further course of the season. One thing is certain: Bayern are keeping an eye on the market and examining options without committing themselves at the moment.
