Rijeka 1-2 Strasbourg player ratings: Mike Penders and Joaquin Panichelli star for Racing | OneFootball

Strasbourg won 2-1 away at Rijeka in the Europa Conference League last 16 on Thursday. Mike Penders and Joaquin Panichelli were central to the result.

According to L'Équipe, Penders made several saves in a commanding display. Panichelli was rated 7.

The Argentine struck after one minute 15 seconds with a deft outside-of-the-boot finish. The bar denied him on 10 minutes, he then lifted a chip wide on 13, and the keeper saved on 15. He also linked play well, including a cushioned header, before laying off to Doué in the move for 2-0.

Sebastian Nanasi, preferred to Godo on the left, slid the pass for the opener and found Panichelli again on 15 minutes. He drove at Rijeka and had a finish ruled offside on 64 minutes, then made way for Godo on 65. Godo saw one chalked off for offside on 70 before finally making it 2-0 on 72. Nanasi was rated 6.

For Rijeka, Toni Fruk fashioned four chances inside the opening 20 minutes, including a close-range left-footer wide in the seventh minute. Less dangerous thereafter, he still showcased neat technique on either foot and was marked 6.
