Rilany Silva names Brazil women's under-17 squad for the World Cup

Coach Rilany Silva has called up 28 players from the Brazil Women’s National Team for the second training camp ahead of the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup. The tournament will take place in October, in Morocco. The squad will gather and train at Granja Comary, in Teresópolis, from September 22 to October 4.

From the 28 players, 21 names will be selected to represent Brazil at the World Cup. The final squad announcement is expected in the first week of October. Brazil is in Group C of the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup, with Canada as the top seed, along with Norway and Ghana. This will be the 10th edition of the tournament.

“This is a crucial period for deciding the 21 names. In the first days of training, we’ll focus on the style of play we want to implement so we can evaluate the responses they give us. Our team arrives stronger and better prepared for this World Cup, both the players and the coaching staff,” said Rilany Silva.

In 2025, the team coached by Rilany Silva had the best campaign in the tournament’s history, finishing in 4th place after being defeated in the semifinals by North Korea, which went on to become champion. The Brazil Women’s U-17 National Team had never previously advanced past the quarterfinals.
