According to Globo.com, the Rio de Janeiro court has maintained judicial intervention at Vasco SAF, dismissed Club de Regatas Vasco da Gama's request for reconsideration, and named lawyer Athos de Andrade Figueira Neves as the new intervener on Wednesday. The club's appeal remains under review.
The ruling was issued by judge Simone Gastesi Chevrand, who took over the case after earlier magistrates were declared suspect. As a result, Pedrinho stays removed from control of the SAF.
Neves steps in following the resignation of Samantha Mendes Longo, the court's initial appointee. The judge said the intervention remains limited to administrative matters, covering governance, financial reporting and the flow of information between company bodies.
She clarified that the measure does not affect the SAF's sporting operations. Club executives continue to run football, including player negotiations, coach recruitment and day to day decisions.
Chevrand also stated the intervention aims at governance and accountability. She said she has not imposed any veto on a potential sale of the SAF and does not rule out the gradual return of former council members.
The court document assigns the intervener to guide management towards returning CRVG's administration to those elected to it, or to take steps to call a subsequent deliberative assembly for a new leadership.
