Agent Giuseppe Riso says Liverpool’s refusal to let Curtis Jones leave scuppered Davide Frattesi’s potential January exit from Inter, despite approaches from Nottingham Forest and Lazio.
Speaking to Sky Sport Italia, Riso added that Lazio made an approach and that Inter are keeping the Italy midfielder for now.
“There was an approach from Lazio, but then Liverpool wouldn’t let Jones go, so at the end of the day it all ground to a halt.”
“Frattesi won’t go to Nottingham Forest either. Inter don’t want to be deprived of his experience at this moment and did not want to go any further in talks.”
Any move for Jones was contingent on him first extending his Liverpool contract, which would have allowed a loan with an option to buy. He did not sign a new deal.
His current contract at Anfield runs to June 2027.
