Rivellino urges change at Corinthians: "Always a new problem"

One of the greatest idols in the history of Corinthians, who also experienced challenging moments, Rivellino spoke about the current situation of the club from Parque São Jorge. The legendary player hopes for titles but emphasized the importance of reducing the debt, which stands at R$ 2.7 billion according to the latest financial statement.

“We need to stop and think about next year, about achievements. We need to pay off the debts! Every moment a new problem arises… Soon his patience might also run out and reach a limit. Then they start doing those things that I am against…”, the idol began to ESPN.

The club still has a chance to win another title this season, as they are competing in the semifinal of the Copa do Brasil against Cruzeiro. If they qualify, they will face Vasco or Fluminense, who are in the other bracket, in the grand final. It has already been decided that the second leg of the final will be in Rio de Janeiro.

“Next year, what is the expectation of the Corinthians fan? I don’t know. I can’t say that with this team we are going to be Brazilian champions. I hope so, but I don’t guarantee it“, Rivellino concluded.

Corinthians takes the field this Thursday (20th), in the final stretch of the Brasileirão. The match kicks off at the Neo Química Arena, against São Paulo, starting at 7:30 PM (Brasília time).
