River Plate may have found their Pity Martínez replacement in the Ukrainian Premier League.
Martínez left to join Atlanta United last week and according to Olé, River boss Marcelo Gallardo now wants to sign Colombian attacker Jorge Carrascal from Karpaty Lviv.
Carrascal has been nicknamed the ‘Colombian Neymar’ and River have reportedly made a €500,000 offer to take him on loan for the rest of the season.
The 20-year-old began his career with Millonarios in his homeland before moving to Spanish Segunda División side Sevilla Atlético and then Karpaty Lviv.
He has been capped five times for Colombia under-20s and his YouTube highlight reel shows why he has drawn comparisons with Paris Saint-Germain’s Brazilian superstar.
Olé claim River are confident that Carrascal’s current club will accept their offer, and the move could be made official in the coming days.
