Rob Couhig has issued a Reading FC ownership update, which includes talk of a potential new buyer that is keen on taking over.
Reading owner, Rob Couhig has revealed that his ownership group are actively listening to offers to purchase the League One club.
Couhig and his ownership group took over the club in May 2025, which brought an end to a host of off-field problems caused by previous owner, Dai Yongge.
Couhig has provided much-needed off-field stability for the Berkshire-based side, who have been able to focus on results on the pitch, much to the pleasure of the club's supporters.
Reading are currently sat seventh in the League One table, and are just a single point adrift of the play-off places, which certainly feel an achievable target for the Royals.
It might be slightly surprising to hear that Couhig is willing to sell the club relatively early into his tenure, but a hip replacement after an accident in Berkshire has given the owner a 'reality check'.
In an interview with The Reading Chronicle, Couhig issued an update on his ownership, which included revealing that he received two calls from "legitimate buyers who are now looking at the club".
"I want to own the club because I enjoy it. The days I don't want to own the club is when I'm getting off the plane, having flown for 20 hours and I'm thinking what can I do?
"The little setback with my hip brought in the sharp reality of the fact that I'm 76 years old. Am I going to want to commute here for the next 10 years? Probably not.
"Am I willing to do it for the next five years where we bring this club to where we can be? Probably. On the other hand, you know, some guy knocks at your door, what are you supposed to say? There is so much we wish to accomplish on and off the pitch."
The Reading Chronicle also state that Couhig has reiterated that he is happy at the club, and isn't actively looking to sell at this current moment in time.

The valuation in which Couhig could demand for the club could depend on which division they're likely to be playing their football in next season.
Reading are certainly in the mix to challenge for a top-six finish in League One, and there's every chance they could make a timely return to the Championship under the management of Leam Richardson.
The Royals are unbeaten in their last five matches in the third-tier, which includes an impressive win over promotion rivals, Bradford City at the weekend.
Richardson's side were a goal down heading towards second-half stoppage time at the Select Car Leasing Stadium, but late goals from Paddy Lane and Matt Ritchie saw the home side continue their charge towards the play-offs.
Reading last played in the second-tier whilst under the ownership of Dai Yongge, but multiple points deductions ultimately saw them suffer a frustrating relegation.
The days of Premier League football will feel like a distant memory nowadays, but the club's supporters will still believe they can make a return to the top-flight in future years if they're managed sensibly by their owners.
They're set to return to action this weekend, when they travel to Kenilworth Road to take on Luton Town, in what has the potential to be a closely-fought battle between two teams that have play-off ambitions.
