Wolves have recalled Pedro Lima from FC Porto and named him in the travelling squad for tonight’s Premier League match at Everton. Rob Edwards addressed his immediate prospects.
“We’ll see. I had a quick chat with him today. He’s impressed in the couple of days that he’s been in. What we want to try and do is look at him and we’ll try and make the right call for us, but also for his progression as well going forward. We’ll probably take a few weeks on that as well. We understand if he does play for us, then that rules out anything else in terms of him going out, so we’ll have to make the right call on that. We’ll see over the next few weeks.” He told the Express & Star.
Lima had been due to spend the season with Porto, starting with the B side then stepping up to the first team, but he did not feature for the seniors and Wolves brought him back to Compton.
He joined Wolves in summer 2024 from Sport Recife after interest from Chelsea, and was viewed as a possible long-term successor to Nelson Semedo. After limited minutes last season, he was loaned out for 2025/26.
With Jackson Tchatchoua and Ki-Jana Hoever having found it tough of late, some supporters have wondered if Lima could get a chance now.
Any first-team appearance would end the prospect of another move this season, as he would have played for two clubs. An FA Cup tie at Shrewsbury Town this weekend could offer an opening, but Edwards will decide in the coming weeks.
