Rob Edwards says Matt Doherty’s future will become clearer in the coming weeks, with his time at Wolves potentially coming to an end.

According to ExpressAndStar.com, the Irishman has spent 13 years at the club across two spells and is the only senior player out of contract this summer.

A knee problem rules the 34-year-old out of the Burnley game, so he may already have played his final match for the club.

Edwards would not confirm whether Doherty will stay or be offered a new deal. “I don't want to talk about individuals right now,” he said.

“Going into the last game weekend, things like that will become clearer over the next week or two.” “It's a bit like players that we're talking about from outside the club, I don't really want to talk too much about individuals.” “I'll let other people do that for now and then we can do that later on.”
