Rob Edwards says he already knows which Wolves players he wants to keep for next season, with recruitment plans stepping up in the coming weeks after relegation was confirmed last month.

He will hold one to one meetings to discuss futures, with initial conversations already under way. According to ExpressAndStar.com, he is keen to balance planning for the Championship with the remaining fixtures.

Edwards maintains the squad remain fully committed and wants to finish as strongly as possible. He believes players still have pride and opportunities to play for, whether at Wolves or elsewhere.

Midfielder Tommy Doyle, who has spent the season at Blues, will return next week to complete the campaign training with Wolves.

He also plans talks with the club’s goalkeepers about their next steps. Third-choice Dan Bentley is due to start Saturday’s match against Sunderland, with Jose Sa expected to be out for one to two weeks with an ankle problem. Sam Johnstone is ruled out for the rest of the campaign with a shoulder injury.

Departures are anticipated, with Atletico Madrid targeting Joao Gomes, but Edwards stresses the focus should be on arrivals. He says recruitment is pivotal and that work in the market will take time.
